To mark Australian Sustainable seafood day on March 18th 2011 we will be holding a series of events at Fish & Co. The sustainable seafood cafe.

At Fish & Co we believe in a combination of education and inspiration to help our customers to know more about sustainable seafood.

On Friday 18th March we will be holding one of our Sustainable seafood and wine dinners at Fish & Co. Our last dinners that were held in October as part of the Sydney International food festival were very popular and sold out quickly, so please book early.

Price per person is $120.00 for canapes and champagne and then five delicious courses of sustainable seafood matched with different wines. All the guests will receive a signed copy of “Fish Tales- Stories and recipes of sustainable fisheries from around the world. The price for the food and wine without the book is $95.00 per head.

All our wines will be coming from Yealands in New Zealand who are leading the charge for some of the best and most sustainable wines on the market.  www.yealands.com

7.30 Friday March 18th Fish & Co. 41 Booth St Annandale 2038.

The Coorong yelow eye is a superb and little used fish full of omega 3 and it is not often eaten out of South Ausralia. People who know nothing about it refer to it as bait fish, but then who wants to listen to them. Every one else who has tried it loves it. The omega 3 fish has a delicious sweet flavour and a firm texture. This is largely due to the time the fish spends in the highly saline environment of the Coorong.

The small schooling fish come into the coorong from the ocean for a number of months to breed and feed. The result is that they take on a far superior taste to their ocean dwelling cousins. Come to Fish & Co. The sustainable seafood cafe in Annandale and try this fish. Once tasted you will remember the delicate flavour. We are currently serving it grilled sumac the middle eastern peppery spice and served with a toasted bread fatoush salad. The coorong yellow eye is often our fish of the day where it is served with a warm dressing of roasted red peppers, black olives and rosemary. On the up coming menu we will be serving these delicious sustainable fillets as part of a Provencal fish soup. This is definitely worth a try. What better way to combine delicious flavours and MSC certified sustainable seafood
